Welcome to the Bandits Section of my website. This section is dedicated to the members of the 281st Assault Helicopter Company, the 5th Special Forces Group, and to all Vietnam Veterans. I am deeply grateful to the many individuals of the 281st who rekindled our association and worked tirelessly to re-connect us after so many years. I was deeply moved by finding the Intruder Website early in 2002. To all of you, thank you. Service in Vietnam required great dedication and determination and every single serviceman and woman deserves credit for answering our nation's call. All Vietnam Veterans have stories to tell and each and every story is worth reading or listening to. Now is a time we can all share among ourselves and with others, the common experiences of Vietnam without judgment, without fear. When I returned from Vietnam, I found that many people didn't care to hear about the Vietnam experience. I found myself on a college campus full of pampered, middle class students who held us in contempt. I, like many others, fell silent. I buried Vietnam somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and for over thirty years, denied its existence. Now, for me and many others, the silence is over. No more denial, no more shame, no more apologies. I am proud to have worked and flown with the greatest aviators and crews ever. I am proud that I had the opportunity to work with Project Delta, the RECONDO School in Nha Trang, the MIKE FORCE, and the many other units supported by the 281st Assault Helicopter Company. I stand with my brothers of the 281st and thousands of others in honoring those 58,000 plus individuals who gave their lives while serving in the jungles of Vietnam. I mourn them, I am proud of them, and I am grateful to them. Paul J. Greiner
Thank you Steve Mathews and Bob Mitchell for inviting me to establish links to the Intruder Websites. |
